Baby Page’s Baby Shower

I had the honour a few months ago to host along side two other girlfriends and fellow bridesmaids for our bestie’s first baby shower.  As you could imagine I was over the moon.  I had previously only been to my own baby shower which I hosted and had no idea what to do (Three years ago!).  As my bestie was having a girl and had a colour scheme already picked out for her room.  I decided the theme would be the chosen colours: pinks, gray and black.  I was in charge of the food and decorations (my favourite bits)

We had a drink station of pink lemonade with Pop Roc’s grey striped straws

Pink Lemonade Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup white sugar

4 cups water (divided)

1 cup cranberry juice (sweetened)

1 cup charlies old fashioned lemonade
Method
1 Make a “simple syrup” by heating sugar and 1 cup of the water in a small saucepan until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat.

2 Stir together the remaining water, cranberry juice, lemon juice and simple syrup. Make adjustments to taste. Chill for an hour, or add ice to cool.

Serves 6, multiply to suit

And decorated with a white tissue pom poms and magenta round paper lanterns

We put on a huge spread of sweet and savoury food set up as a dessert table.  Decorated with black pink and silver tissue pom poms by Pop Roc Parties, white and magenta round paper lanterns by Pop Roc Parties.  The gorgeous All you need is love bunting is by Anna and Blue Paperie and silver and black ruffled streamers are made by me

I tried to keep to the colour scheme for the sweet foods, on the menu was: pink sugar cookies, marshmallows, candy floss, coconut ice, chocolate cake pops, Vienna sponge ruffled cake (the colour of the icing didn’t photograph very well).  The savory food was just our favourite treats:  Sausage rolls, spring rolls, club sandwiches, tuna tasties, mini corn fritters and mini savory muffins

I love the idea of milk bottle lollies in Pop Roc’s mini milk bottles

I just think the pom poms in silver are just stunning!

And here’s a peak at babies room, I love the ribbon hanging and mini pom poms of course
